The Power of The Lord Was Present to Heal Them!

Luke 5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

Jesus had a ministry of teaching, preaching and healing! Everywhere He went the power of God was present through His teaching and preaching to heal people. He walked and talked God; He then ministered through the power of the Spirit whatever was needed to make a person whole! The power of the Lord was present to heal them! If they needed forgiveness of sin to heal them spiritually, the power of God was present to do that! If they needed deliverance from demonic oppression, the power of God was with Him, present to deliver. If they needed physical healing, the power of God was there to flow from Him touching them in their infirmity and healing! It was the power of God working through Him that brought the healing virtue into people’s lives.

Matthew 4:23-25 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

When Jesus’ disciples were sitting under His ministry they saw first-hand how the power of God worked through Him. He explained it to them in this way:

John 14:7-11 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”

Jesus acknowledge that the Father who was in Him was the One who did the works through Him. He expressed to His disciples that they could know that it was the Father within doing the works by hearing Him speak and watching Him work. He went on to tell them that those who follow after Him that believe in Him would do the same works that He did and greater works.

John 14:12-14 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name I will do it.”

Mark 16:17,18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; “they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.

This past weekend I had the privilege of sitting under the ministry of Reverend Hazel Forrester. She is my Pastor’s mother and a mighty woman of God, who at the age of 87, is still out preaching, teaching and healing; following in the footsteps of Jesus! The power of God was present to save, heal, deliver and set free through her this weekend. It was a very special weekend for me! What an honor and privilege not only to sit under her mentor-ship this weekend, but to be included as a minister beside her helping her pray for the sick and oppressed. She has touched so many through her years of ministry. It was awesome to glean from her wisdom and watch how she followed the direction of the Holy Spirit in ministry. I learned so much from spending this time with her and under her anointing received healing and wholeness from the Lord, for the power of the Lord was present to heal! There were three of us ladies who accompanied her to North Carolina for the revival where she was ministering. We were all blessed to be a part of her ministry this weekend!

God is so awesome! Whatever you have need of, His power is present to provide the healing to make you whole! We saw many miracles this weekend and all three of us came back home changed!

Father, I thank You for the privilege of sitting under Sister Forrester’s ministry this weekend. I thank You that she lives what she preaches and that her love for people compels her to seek You for Your power to flow through her to heal. Thank You for the privilege of helping her pray for the sick and oppressed this weekend! I am changed because of her taking the time to teach and instruct as she ministered. Father, I pray for those who may be reading this blog who need a healing touch from You today. I pray that they will reach out and receive from You whatever it is that they have need of. You are still present to heal through Your members of the body of Christ. Thank You, Lord, for flowing Your power through your children to save, heal, deliver and set people from from the bondage of the enemy! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

How AWESOME for you Avanell! I am so glad you had such a full weekend. I only wish I have been there but in my own way dh and I had a marvelous weekend too. Our old and favorite pastor and his wife is her for a while from Costa Rica and it was such a blessing under his guidance again so I know exactly how it was for you under your pastor’s mother. Pastor Toby also follows the Holy Spirit ONLY. It was at Toby’s church that I received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. And I was also delivered from depression (18 years ago) and anti-depressants!
I have missed you my dear friend so am so glad you are back but we both are refreshed now! God Bless you, Avanell!
