Hebrews 6:1-20 (AMP) Accordingly God also, in His desire to show more convincingly and beyond doubt to those who were to inherit the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose and plan, intervened (mediated) with an oath. This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strengths and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us]. [Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it—a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil, Where Jesus has entered in for us [in advance], a Forerunner having become a High Priest forever after the order (with the rank) of Melchizedek.
John 14:1 (AMP) DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on ME.
“Let not your heart be troubled, Child. Keep your heart focused on Me for I am the anchor for your soul. Have I not said that there will be life changing world events taking place in the time nearing My return? Yes, these things will come to pass. People will be lovers of themselves, having no regard for even family members around them; self-centered, thinking only of their own interests. There will be wars and rumors of wars; nation rising against nation and people fighting each other. These are all signs of the times you live in. But let not your heart be troubled. When you see these things happening know that My return is soon. Keep your eyes focused on Me; turn not to the right or to the left wondering what to do. Place your hope in Me for I will anchor your soul so you do not fly out of control in fear with the emotions that these occurrences will try to bring out in you. Fear is an enemy of your soul. Do not be anxious about anything but bring those concerns to Me in prayer and I will give you peace. Rest and trust in Me for I am the anchor that holds you steady in these last days. Do not let your heart be troubled.”
Father, I thank You for the assurance that You are the One that anchors our souls steady in the midst of the storms raging around us. Thank You for giving us peace when we bring our concerns to You. You are our God and we look to You for the answers to life’s questions. I pray this morning for my friends who are going through anxiety regarding what is happening around them. I ask You, Father, to heal the hurts in their hearts, bring restoration to broken relationships and give them peace. I pray, Father, for those who may be troubled by the world events that we see taking place every day. Father, Your word says that You created us, You know us, and You will provide for us. I thank You for the assurance that even though these things must come to pass in the last days that we can rest in Your provision for our lives. I pray for our nation and our leaders this morning that You will open blinded eyes and provide the direction that they need to lead our nation in the way that You would have us go. I pray that our people will turn back to You and proclaim You, once again, as the Rock on which we were founded. Father, I pray that You will direct Your people to pray for our nation’s leaders that we might live in peace and might glorify You once again in our country. Thank You, Father! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
