Pulling Up To The Pump

Gas Pump

This morning as I was praying the Lord reminded me that no one can give out without being refilled. Just as a car pulls up to the gas pump for refueling so we must draw near to Him to be filled with His strength, His power, His anointing to do the things that He has called us to do. Whether you have been called to minster His love to the world or to just your own personal friends and family you will be depleted emotionally if you do not pull up to the spout where the glory comes out and be refilled!

Matthew 11:28, 29 NLT Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.

Rest — means to make to cease; a cessation from toil, a refreshment, an intermission.

Do you need an intermission from life’s cares and burdens? Come to Jesus; pull up to the pump and be refilled. Here’s a word from the Lord for you this morning:

“Draw near to Me and I will draw near to fill you up just as a car gets refilled by pulling close to the pump and accessing the pump’s supply. So I will fill you with the fuel necessary to keep you full of My Spirit so you will not be running on empty. Do not fail to come to Me for that infilling or you will become emotionally drained because of those who are drawing from you. Fill up to full every day so you will have a supply not just for you but for those around you. I love you, Child, and do not want to see you depleted of your strength. Come to Me and I will fill you to overflowing.”

The Israelites, as said in Hebrews 4:2, could not enter into God’s rest because they didn’t mix the Word that they heard with faith. When God speaks His word to you it must be mixed with faith or it will not profit you. Without faith it’s impossible to please God because you must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Are you mixing faith with the Word of God that you hear this morning?

Today I entered into the Secret Place with My heavenly Father and I drew from His reserves to fill what was depleted from my supply yesterday. Will you draw from His Spirit today to meet the needs of this day? I challenge you to spend some time in the presence of the Lord, just being quiet before Him, and listen for that sweet voice of love as He fills you with His supply of strength for today.

Father, I thank you today that you never run short and your supply is always full and ready for us to come and draw from your well.  Thank You for the love that you give so freely to those who come to draw near to You.  You are an oasis in the desert for the weary and heavy-laden.  Father, I thank You for the word that You supply to meet every need in our lives.  I thank You for the warmth of Your presence, the love that You shower upon us.  May You be blessed today, Father, by Your children who come to just rest in You and enjoy spending time with You.  Thank You, Lord, for Your unending supply that fills me to overflowing today that You might spill out of me to touch those around me.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

That’s right. We all need to stay full in order to live the life God called us to live.

I love this post…once we embrace this concept we will be more willing to minister and give to others because we know God will always fill us back up. I love the gas station analogy because even with this we can understand that we have to watch what we are allowing ourselves to be filled up with: regular, super or premium 😉
    Got to love Him….
    Be blessed

Thank you! Amen! When we pull up to the spout where the glory comes out we get filled up with pure love, mercy, grace, forgiveness and all the good that comes from being in the presence of the Lord. As Psalm 16:11 says: You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

      Thank you! God bless!

True. Staying hungry for Him is the key. One good encounter with God will have us yearning after Him. Jesus spent hours in prayer, communicating with the Father; always coming out with more power and being in sync with the Father’s will. Giving all and coming back empty and hungry for more!

That’s when we can say every day gets sweeter than the day before 🙂

Agreed! The thing is that when we give out we just have to come back for refilling or we will not have anything left to give out at some point in time. Jesus spent whole nights in prayer and then went back into the world to give out of His virtue and power to meet the needs of the people. As a man filled with the Holy Spirit He had to have the refilling that came from that time with His Father. We need that even more than He.

And it’s true that every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before!

        Blessings to you!
