Live Out Loud

Live Out Loud

2 Peter 1:3-8 NLT As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature. So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I love this portion of Scripture! The key to living life out loud with purpose and direction is in knowing Jesus Christ! When we grow to know Him more we understand all that He has given us to live life successfully out loud! What does it mean to live life out loud? To me that means that I live my life purposely and intentionally. Life can carry you along if you let it, but if you live life out loud you are the one making the choices that dictate where your life is going. You are the one who lives with purpose and direction, following the promises of God that give you faith to live a life of moral and spiritual excellence!

The New King James Version says in verse 3 that His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness! That means that whatever we need to live our lives with excellence spiritually and naturally has been given to us through the power of our relationship with Jesus Christ. His Spirit living within us enables us to live out loud!

John 10:10 NKJV The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Abundantly – Greek word perissos – means superabundance, excessive, overflowing, surplus, over and above, more than enough, profuse, extraordinary, above the ordinary, more than sufficient.

Is you life filled with abundance? Is it overflowing with more than enough than you need? Maybe the thief is stealing from you without you really recognizing it. Or maybe you’re not making the decisions that lead to an abundant life.

Jesus came that we might have life in abundance; an enjoyable life; one filled to overflowing with the promises of God. But we must believe and receive to experience that life. When we allow life to carry us along we are simply living out the devil’s plan to steal, kill and destroy our destinies. God intends for us to live our lives out loud, with purpose and the direction that He gives to overcome all the attacks of the evil one.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

God’s promises are to be fulfilled in us to His glory and honor. Have you ever thought that God’s goodness to you when lived out through your life would bring Him glory? His promises are positive, Yes and Amen, so be it and when we live out loud with His direction and purpose His promises are fulfilled in our lives and He receives glory from a life that reflects His goodness!

The choice is ours to make. Will we live the life that God has given us out loud with purpose and direction or will we be carried along by what life brings our way?

Father, I thank You for the life that You have given me; a life filled with Your goodness, with Your promises and with Your abundance! Thank You for giving Jesus to die for me that I might have the opportunity to life my life in Him, with Your Spirit’s direction and provision. Thank You for giving me the choice to live my life with Your purpose and direction.

Father, I pray for those who may be struggling with what life has brought their way. I pray that they will know You, the only true God and that You will show them the good plan that You have for their lives so they can begin to make the choices that bring Your promises into being in their lives. May they seek You with their whole heart and come to know You in reality in their lives. I pray that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened that they might see Your promises and walk in alignment with them. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

The Zoe Kind Of Life

Without God

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they my have it more abundantly.”

Jesus talked about the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy a person’s life and we know and understand that He is describing Satan, better known as the devil. But then He tells us of the kind of life that we would have if we embrace all that He died to give us. It is life in abundance.

Life – Greek word zoe – means life as God has it, that which the Father has in Himself, and which He gave to the Incarnate Son to have in Himself. From this life man has become alienated in consequence of the Fall, and of this life men become partakers through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Zoe, the God kind of life in abundance, excessive to overflowing; surplus, over and above, more than enough, profuse, extraordinary and more than sufficient is the kind of life that Jesus died to give us. It begins in our lives when we invite Him in to be our Savior and Lord. Then it continues by faith as we come into the understanding of that kind of life that God has and has given us.

When God created man in the very beginning Genesis 2:7 says that He formed him from the dust of the ground and then He “breathed into his nostril the breath of life; and man became a living being.” When we invite Jesus into our hearts to become our own personal Lord and Savior God once again breathes new life into us and our spirit that was created to inhabit His Spirit comes alive spiritually. He gives us His breath, His life, His overflowing surplus of everything that we have need of, body, soul and spirit. We can life healthfully; full of heath in all areas of our lives because God has given us His kind of life. There is no sin with God; there is no sickness with God and there is no lack with Him. He is full of health within Himself. That is the life that He has given us through the relationship that we have with His Son, Jesus Christ.

Healthfully – full of health.

John 3:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

What does it mean to prosper. The word “prosper” used in this verse is the Greek word “euodoo” and it means “to help on one’s way”; “to have a prosperous journey”; to have prosperity of physical and spiritual health. This word clearly implies that divine prosperity is not a momentary, passing phenomenon, but rather it is an on-going, progressing state of success and well-being. It is the zoe kind of life that God has, that He has intended for us to have in every area of our lives. It is living healthfully; full of health, spirit, soul and body.

Seed from God’s word for today: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8

God said in John 3:2 that John was praying that they would prosper in all things and be in health, just as their soul prospers. The soul is the mind, will and emotions. That means that a person cannot live healthfully as God intended without knowing what God has given them in this zoe kind of life. If the mind doesn’t understand, the will refuses to receive and the emotions go by how they feel instead of the truth of God’s word the person will not prosper. The only way to understand all the benefits of life in abundance that Jesus died to give us is to get into His word and read about the covenant that God made with Jesus through His blood that was shed on Calvary, of which He has made us heirs. The book of Hebrews tells us about how Jesus went to the cross to purchase a better covenant than what they had in Old Testament days. The blood of bulls and goats were needed to cover their sin in the Old Testament, but the blood of Jesus washes away our sin, once and for all! His blood provides life for us because the Old Testament tells us that the life is in the blood.

Leviticus 17:11 ‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

The blood that Jesus shed for us gives us life; His life, the zoe kind of life! When we accept Jesus as our own personal Savior and Lord, His life begins flowing through our veins. It is clean and pure and full of health! We no longer have to live under sin, sickness and poverty. He died to give us abundant life, full and overflowing in all areas of our lives. The only way we experience the thief stealing our life is when we don’t understand what all Jesus died to give us and so we mistakenly accept the thoughts that come to us that we are no good, that we have to live under our circumstances, and that we have no power over sin, sickness and lack. But that is the devil coming to steal our health!

When Jesus died on the cross for us at that moment we had forgiveness of sin, freedom from sickness and disease and prosperity in all areas of our lives. It becomes ours when we appropriate it in to our lives; when we receive the free gift of life that He died to give us. We make it ours through faith in His finished work on the cross of Calvary! Then when the devil comes delivering a package that is the opposite of what Jesus gave us we can let faith answer the door. Faith does not receive accusations of a no good life of sin because the word says there is no condemnation in those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not according to the flesh but according to the word! (Romans 8:1) Faith doesn’t receive sickness because the word says that Jesus Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses and by His stripes we were healed! (Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24) Faith doesn’t receive lack because God says in His word that He provides for our every need. He did this by becoming poor that we might through His poverty become rich. (Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 8:9) Having faith is not denying that you have symptoms of sin, sickness and lack; it simply looks at the word of God instead of the symptoms and declares what the word says rather than what the person feels. It is walking according to God’s higher law of prosperity; wholeness in spirit, soul and body, rather than identifying with the old sin nature of man that we had before we received Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. Faith is not denying a problem, but speaking of the solution to the problem more than the problem itself.

Are you living healthfully today? Are you experiencing all that Jesus die to give you? If not, will you ask Him to fill you with His zoe life? The only way we receive from God is by faith because without faith it is impossible to please Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Father, I come before You this morning in faith believing that You gave Your Son, Jesus, to be beaten and crucified that I might have life, the zoe kind of life, Your very own life flowing through my veins. I ask You to touch those who may not be experiencing Your life this morning. I pray that those who have never received Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord will pray to receive Him today. May this be their day of salvation! I ask You to show them that You love them by convicting them of their need for Him as Savior. I pray that they will ask Jesus into their hearts and be born again so that the life that You died to give them will be activated within their spirits. Father, I also lift up those who may be experiencing sickness and lack in their bodies and other areas of their lives. I pray that they will see the goodness of Your sacrifice on the cross for their health. I pray that they may prosper in all things and be in health as Your word declares. May they receive by faith all that You died to give them, Lord Jesus. I declare that Your blood was not shed in vain, but that it cleanses and washes away all sin, sickness and disease and poverty and lack. And I thank You for it! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

The Sacrificed Life

Sacrificial Lamb

Romans 12:1 AMP I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

Did you realize that a sacrifice dies so that someone else can live? That’s what Jesus did for us; He died that we might live. He gave His life so we could experience abundant life. He died for me that I might live for Him. For us to be a living sacrifice means that everything that we are and have is laid on the altar of service and worship for our God; every moment of every day, whatever we desire is crucified that God may live through us.

1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 AMP Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own. You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.

Wow, my body as that of a born again believer in Christ Jesus, now is the very sanctuary of the Holy Spirit Who lives within me. He is a Gift from God to me that seals me as a child of His. So, since Jesus paid for my salvation with His own blood I now have the responsibility to live each day sacrificing my will for His, my desires for His, my thoughts for His, my emotions for His….my everything for His. I am to be a “living sacrifice” for Jesus!

Question to ponder: Am I giving my all to Him today that He might live through me?

Confession for today based on God’s word: I make a decisive dedication of my body, mind, will, emotions, and spirit to God as a living sacrifice, devoted and set apart for His use and to be well pleasing in His sight today which is my reasonable service to Him and worship of Him.

Prayer for today: Father, I thank You for giving Jesus to die for me that I might experience abundant life. I choose today to give You all that I am, that I have and that I ever hope to be. I pray that my life will be a reflection of the life that You gave for me. May I glorify You in my spirit, soul and body today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Jesus Heals The Brokenhearted

Believe, God is with you

Psalm 147:1-5 PRAISE the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

God is great and greatly to be praised! His power is mighty; His knowledge is infinite. He sees everyone in every situation all at once. He sees the beginning to the end in one big picture. One day is as a thousand years to our God. And He is intimately involved in all our ways.

Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. “Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

God knows everything that is happening in your life. He even knows how many hairs there are on your head. He values you above all of His creation. He loves you and cares about your every move. His love is never-ending.

Isaiah 54:10 NIV Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Psalm 145:8, 9 The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

When troubles come upon us and we feel we have no place to turn we must remember that God is greater than anything that would come against us and He loves us, cares for us and wants to help us through the difficulties. The enemy comes with his voice of discouragement and despair, but God is always there to help us overcome the temptation to give up, to quit or to end it all because of the disappointment of life.

Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

That phrase “of old” in that scripture actually means “from afar”. “The LORD has appeared to me from afar”. Does it seem that God is far away from you because of the problems in your life? He really isn’t, but difficulties will try to separate you from Him. The devil will tell you that God is far away from you and doesn’t care, but His word tells us otherwise. God’s word proclaims throughout from Genesis to Revelation His love for His people. When the enemy comes with His lies you must be the one that shuts the door on his condemning words. God loves you and has proven His love through His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:8, 9 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

If God loved you so much while you were still a sinner to give Jesus to die for you, does He love you any less now? No, He loves you! Many people are walking around thinking God is mad at them because of something they may have done or not done, or because they are going through difficulties, but God is not made at you! God loves you! The enemy is the one who comes to steal your peace! The devil wants to destroy you; God loves you and has provided salvation and deliverance for you. He sent Jesus to die for you that you might have abundant life!

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The thief is the devil. He comes only to steal from you, to kill you and to destroy your life. He has a plan for your life just like God has a plan for your life. The difference is that the devil’s plan is for evil and destruction and God’s plan for your life is for abundance! When the devil comes with his lies you must recognize them for what they are and shut the door on His voice. Listen to God’s voice; believe in His plan for your life and trust Him to bring you through the difficult times to abundance.

Even though this is a season of celebration, there are many who are among us who are hurting and discouraged. Life goes on and days of trouble still happen even in times of joyous celebration. The key to winning over the difficulties of life is remembering that regardless of what you may be experiencing, God is for you; He is with you and He will help you overcome!

Father, I come before You this morning to worship You for Who You are! You are our God! There is none above You or beside You. You are worthy, Lord Jesus, to receive glory and honor and praise, for You are the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of mankind. Thank You for laying down Your life for the sheep. Thank You for dying that I might live!

Father, I lift up the brokenhearted to You this morning. You said in Your word in Luke 4:18 that Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. Father, I ask You to heal the hurts in the hearts of those who are brokenhearted this morning. I pray that You will lift them up from the despair that they are in right now and give comfort and healing to their hearts. Father, I praise You for being close to them. I thank You for wrapping them in a cocoon of Your peace today. I ask You to reveal Yourself to them in ways that they will know that it is You and that You are with them to guide, direct and help them. Thank You, Father, for bringing restoration into their lives and for giving back to them the years and things that the devil has stolen from them. Restore Your children to good health; physically, mentally, emotionally and financially! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Amazing Love
