My Hiding Place

Daniel 2 20 22

Daniel 2:20-22 AMP Daniel answered, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever! For wisdom and might are His! He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding! He reveals the deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him!

I’m so thankful that God is the One who is in charge of my life; my times are in His hands! He knows what is best for me for wisdom is His and nothing is mightier than Him. He changes the seasons, not only in the natural, but in the spiritual as well. When it is time for me to move into another season in my life He has already gone before me into it and prepared my way before me. God is in charge of kings and kingdoms and nothing is outside of His control. He shares the deep and secret things with those who know Him; those who spend time with Him and desire to walk closely in His presence.

Psalm 25:14 AMP The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.

As a child I was afraid of the dark. I still don’t like to take the dog outside after dark. But when I do I know that God knows what is in the darkness and He is aware that it makes me nervous to go out where I can’t see what lies ahead of me. That pertains to the future as well, as it is hidden from my sight, but not from His. Light dwells with Him; there is nothing hidden from His sight and when I walk with Him I walk in the Light!

Psalm 139:7-12 AMP Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold You are there. If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me, Even the darkness hides nothing from you, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.

There is no place that I can go that God hasn’t already gone before me or where I will be away from Him. He is my constant companion because I have made Him my dwelling place. There is no place where His hand shall not lead me or hold tightly to me. And there is nothing that is hidden from His sight that I might encounter that would throw Him off and cause me to fall.

I have this assurance from God’s Word that He will always be there to help me, to deliver me and to care for me.

Psalm 91:14-16 AMP Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

God says that because I love Him I have the assurance that He will take care of me. I belong to Him; He is my God; I know Him and trust Him to never leave me nor forsake me. I pray and call on Him when I am in trouble and He hears and answers my cries for help. He promises to satisfy me with long life and show me His salvation.

What a glorious God I serve! He is mighty in power, might and deed! He is awesome to know and wonderful to experience. He is my God and I am His child, the sheep of His pasture. I will dwell with Him and He with me all the days of my life!

Child of God, He knows exactly where you are right now.  He knows the struggles that you are facing.  He is aware of your need for Him and He wants to walk with you through all the days of your life.  God is with you; He will not allow you to fall and fail.  He will hold you and protect you through the storms of life if you will place your trust in Him and allow Him to lead you by the hand.

Father, I thank You for Your hand of protection over me. I thank You that You have already gone before me into my future and disarmed the things that would cause me to fear. Father, You are my God; there is none above You nor beside You. How awesome You are to be my Father, my protector, and My God. Thank You for making me Your own through the blood of Your Son. Thank you for giving Jesus to die for me that I might live with You. Thank You for going before me into every situation that I might encounter and for preparing my way to be successful and prosperous in it. I ask You, this morning, to comfort and strengthen my brothers and sisters in Christ who may be walking through difficult days.  I pray that You will assure them that You are there with them and that nothing will harm them when they place their trust in You.  I pray that the enemy who is coming against them will be stopped, in Jesus’ name, and that the darkness will be made light around them so evil cannot overtake them.  I ask You to deliver them and set them on high and show them Your great salvation.  In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Take Your Thoughts Captive!

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

“Do not fear what lies ahead of you, Child. For I have already gone before you and conquered the future. I led captive death, hell and the grave. They have no hold over you. I conquered them so you have no reason to fear. There is no weapon that is formed against a child of God that can prosper. Rise up and speak to that fear that comes against you. It is a spirit sent to harass you from the evil one. Put your trust in Me and speak to the mountain. Tell it to move, and leave, and it will do what you say. You have authority over the evil one for I have given you My authority. Do not allow him to steal any ground in your life. Declare the victory for I have already defeated your enemy. I conquered him when I went to hell on your behalf. I took back the keys to the kingdom and have given them to My church. You now have victory over every attack of the enemy. Rise up in My strength and power and go forth as the mighty army of God. Use your authority in prayer to stand against the evil one. Do not allow fear to rule and reign in your heart and mind. Take authority over the thoughts of fear, doubt and unbelief that he arrays against you. Stand firm in who you are in Christ Jesus and cast down any thought or imagination that plants fear in your heart. Do not entertain thoughts of evil. Think only on those things that are pure and lovely and of a good report. Keep your thought life pure and free from the corruption of the world. Do not allow the distractions of world events to take place in your mind. Keep your focus on Me for I am greater than any event or people group that would try to overtake you. Look unto Me for I am the greater One who lives within you. My name is higher than sickness and disease or war and strife. I am the Great I AM; able to conquer all things on behalf of My people. I have already defeated the enemy of your souls that tries to stir up trouble in your life. Now rise up as the mighty army of God and go forth in My power and strength for I have declared you to be victorious and able to conquer all things through Him who loves you!”

Father, I thank You for providing for our every need. You have given us the victory over the evil one. May we rise up as You have declared and go forth in Your power and strength to conquer the fears that come against us. I pray for those this morning who are experiencing mental anguish over things that lie ahead of them. I pray for them to be set free from the bondage of fear. I ask You, Lord, to release them from the grasp that the evil one is trying to use to hold them captive. Father, I ask You to show them how to stand against him; how to speak to the mountain that he has placed before them and how to conquer the storm that rages in their lives. Father, help them to speak only what Your word says for power lies in the the declarations that we make. Thank You for the victory, Father! May You be glorified as we enforce the work that You did on our behalf on the cross of Calvary. Jesus, you did not die in vain! We receive the victory already secured for us! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ephesians 4:8-10 Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” (Now this, “He ascended”–what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)

Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness you shall be established; You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; And from terror, for it shall not come near you.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Mark 11:22-24 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. “For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Matthew 16:19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world.

Philippians 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Friends, it is time for us to take a stand against the evil one, who comes to steal our peace, our joy and to destroy our lives. As I was praying this morning I felt a strong presence of the Lord to give a word from Him to dispel the lies of the enemy that he is planting in the hearts and minds of God’s people. This has been on my heart for some time now and it seems that God just keeps bringing it back to my remembrance. The Word says in that in the end times that men’s hearts will fail them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth. (Luke 21:16) It is important that we keep our focus on Jesus and stand on His word. When He speaks you can judge what has been said by the word of God. That’s how we know His voice; we hear what is being said to us and then we see if it lines up with the Word. That’s why I have included the verses at the end of the message from the Lord as I wanted you to see that God, the Holy Spirit, always speaks in alignment with His word. Take the weapon of the Word of God and use it to slash the enemy’s lies and refute his arguments that come against your peace of mind. Cast down those thoughts and bring them into obedience to the Word of God!

Come Unto Jesus!

Psalm 55:4-8 My heart is severely pained within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Indeed, I would wander far off, And remain in the wilderness. Selah I would hasten my escape From the windy storm and tempest.

I love to read the Psalms that David wrote because he is so open and honest in expressing his feelings to God. I think many times we are afraid to tell our heavenly Father how we really feel. Some of that fear comes from growing up in a performance oriented society where we are accepted and loved based on our performance, not for who we are. But God loves us unconditionally! If we’ve received Jesus as our Lord and Savior we belong to Him; we are a part of His family. God reaches down to His children in love to lift them up and pull them out of the messes they may be in. He forgives and restores us to right fellowship with Him when we acknowledge what we’ve done wrong in confession to Him. He is not like a person who changes his feelings toward those he is supposed to love when they do not respond to him as he would like. God loves because He is love!

1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

It is said that David was “a man after God’s own heart”. I believe that he was described as that type of person because he wasn’t afraid to talk to God in the honesty of his feelings. He wasn’t a perfect man, because we see in the scriptures of his sin with Bathsheba, but he was a man who was quick to repent and had a soft heart towards the Lord; he was teachable and reachable! But David had deep feelings that we see so often coming out in the Psalms that he wrote.

In Psalm 55 we see where David was hurting to the point of death. Fear had come upon him and he trembled under the load of what was bothering him. He longed to run away where trouble couldn’t find him! He wanted to escape from the storms of life.

How many times have we felt the same way? Maybe you’re in that spot right now; where life has overwhelmed you to the point that you wish you could fly away where no one knew where you were. I’ve been there myself a time or two! David pours out his heart to his God expecting Him to hear and answer his prayers.

Psalm 55:16-18 As for me, I will call upon God, And the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me.

After pouring out His heart to his God He believed that he would receive what he had asked of Him. He knew that God would save him from the battle that was raging around him. He cried out to him morning, noon and night and he knew that God was hearing his voice and would come to his rescue. He proclaimed that his God had redeemed his soul in peace even before he saw it come into manifestation. David was a man of faith, believing that he would receive when he prayed.

Jesus told us in Matthew 21:22 “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

David knew that his God would hear and answer his prayer of petition. He believed that he would receive what he asked of his Father.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

The Hebrew word for “sustain” in that verse means “to maintain, nourish, provide food, bear, hold up, protect, support, defend; to supply the means necessary for living.”

David knew that his God would sustain him, providing for whatever need he had when he cried out to him. He had a living and vital relationship with his God, but it was based on the Old Covenant, secured by the sacrifices of animals. Thanks to Jesus we now live under the New Covenant, of which He is the mediator. It is a better covenant. The sacrifices David had to offer for sin that would make him acceptable to his God we no longer have to make. Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins and the way to the Father is open for all to boldly come in.

Sometimes we are hesitant to tell our heavenly Father what we are feeling because we think we shouldn’t feel that way, or we are afraid we will be rejected because of our feelings. But Jesus made a way for us to come before the Father without fearing. He paid the price for us to have the freedom to come boldly before our God when are in need.

Hebrews 4:14-16: Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

My friends, the door to the Father is open for you to enter in. Jesus experienced all that you are experiencing, but He didn’t sin through it. He didn’t fear but He trusted His Father to sustain Him; to provide for His every need. Our Father now wants to hear all about your heartaches and He wants to give you the solution to your problems. But he’s waiting for you to open up your heart to Him. He will not force Himself on you. Will you tell Him what is bothering you? Will you believe that He will hear and answer your prayers even before you see that answer in manifestation?

David knew God under the Old Testament law, but Jesus made it possible for us to know God under the New Testament grace. Jesus paid the price for us to be children of God. He made it possible for us to come boldly into God’s presence to receive the help that we need at just the right time.

Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Jesus stands between us and God bridging the gap that once was there that held us back from being close to our Heavenly Father. He died that we might live! He took the punishment for our sin that we might be free to be children of God.

John 1:12, 13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

David still had to perform animal sacrifices under Old Testament Laws to be acceptable to God, but we are acceptable to God when we place our faith and trust in the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the Cross of Calvary.

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Hebrews 10:11-14 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting til His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Since Jesus died for us we are now able to call our God, “Abba, Father” because we are His sons and daughters. When we receive Jesus as Savior and Lord we are born again, not of the flesh, but of the Spirit; born into the family of God.

Have you been born into the family of God? If not, I would like to introduce you to the best friend you will ever have; the Lord Jesus Christ. He longs to bring you into His family where you can know the Heavenly Father. If you have never received Jesus as your Savior and Lord and would like to, please pray this prayer with me and believe it sincerely in your heart:

Father, I come before you this morning in the name of Jesus. I confess that I am a sinner both by birth and by choice. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God; that He died for my sins that I might live to new life, and that You, Father God, raised Him from the dead and He now lives seated at Your right hand. I ask You to forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord and I thank You for saving me. I will live for You every day of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer for the first time and meant it, you are now a child of God, privileged to have all the benefits of the family of God. You can now come boldly before the Father in your time of trouble to receive the help that you need. You an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ Jesus! Praise the Lord! I welcome you as my brother or sister in Christ!

If you are going through a difficult time right now, Jesus is right there with you. He is there by His Spirit who lives within you. He longs to help you with your troubles. Won’t you share your heart with Him and let Him lead you in the way you should go to receive the help that you need? Don’t be afraid to pour out your heart to Him. He understands and is waiting to come to your aid.

Father, I thank You for Jesus! I thank You that He died for us, rose again triumphant over death, hell and the grave and that He ever lives to make intercession for us! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for laying down Your life for us that we might have eternal life in You! Father, I pray for my friends this morning that are going through difficult times. I pray that You will make Yourself real to them in ways that they will understand so they will know that You are right there to help them through the difficulties. Please strengthen them by Your Spirit who lives within them. Heal their bodies that are suffering through physical illnesses; comfort those who are hurting emotionally; set free those who are oppressed and burdened by the attacks of the enemy. Father, bring to salvation those who don’t know Jesus! Lord, You are more than able to deliver Your people from temptation and trials. I ask You, Lord, to work miracles in their lives by healing, delivering and setting them free. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
